Jackdaw

This bird has a mixed reputation. In England (UK) traditionally the sight of a lone jackdaw perched on a building is an omen of bad fortune. A flock perching on the roof indicates not only the possibility of an addition to the family but added financial gains for those living inside the house. If it drops down the chimney is it reputed that a death in the family will occur. Should a flock of jackdaws fly around your house or be seen settling late into the evening then bad weather is on the way.
