By the great number of tears shed, from top to bottom and from the bottom to the very top, a life is lost through a game with too much faith, to die of thirst through a great deficiency.
Pour l'abondance de larme respandue Du hault en bas par le bas au plus hault. Trop grande foir par jeu vie perdue De soif mourir par habondant deffault.
On Line one:
The word, "by" is synomous for: Goodbye! Farewell! The next word...in French...is a Greek style word puzzle: The good [ =bon]...then we have the letters...D...[sounded, phonetrically: "DI." then...A N...[ phonetic & name equal for: AN, ANE, ANA, etc].
Now. with simple rearrangement...the type Nostradamus is famous for we have...D I A N A. Please note the additional, "ce" at the end of the word is code for: See [ phonetic= ce].
The next little two letter word, "of," is also synonmous with the word...by...a word game, once again...for Goodby! or Farewell! We end the verse line with the obvious comment: "...tears shed."
Putting it all together...by paraphrasing and amplification:
" Farewell! Goodbye! The Good Diana...Goodbye...tears are shed in great number."
This is how Nostradamus would encode a name into his prophetic poetry.
Lines 2,3 & 4:
These lines, in the Quatrain are somewhat easy to comprehend...simply by the use of synonyms. It is true that Diana went from the "top=high=regality" to a "bottom=a lower level." Then from a " lower position, or level..."...to the very top...The Peoples Princess... buried under a coffin draped flag of Official Royalty.
It is true, that a "game...a chase..." was the major factor in the fatal crash. It is also true that too much "faith=trust...reliance," had been given to the driver by those involved.
The last line is somewhat more difficult. It does however give a very major fact about the deadly accident. One of the major interpreters, Edgar Leoni, in his classic work...The Prophecies of Nostradamus...relates the last line as: "To die through abundant deficiency of thirst."
In the footnotes he notes that term is: "...to drink himself to death." Amazing, detailed facts written well over 400 years ago...about the number one news event of 1997.
